Edaville 2007

Last night when we Lisa and I got home from work we decided to go to Edaville USA. A few weeks ago I asked the girls (Mandy & Leah) if they wanted to go and a trip was planned for last Friday (7th). Unfortunately bad weather canceled the trip. It may be a few weeks before schedules align again and we all make the trip together.Last night Lisa and I decided to go alone just for the fun of it and to see it after the fresh snow fall. I haven’t been since I was like 8 years old. It’s truly amazing how different things are in your memories. I remember being a child looking at the puppets in the houses and them being huge! I was surprised to see how different they all seemed.

We had a great time walking around viewing the lights, drinking hot cocoa and talking about our child hood experiences. "Evil Edaville" was never something Lisa enjoyed as a kid. Mid July trips to Edaville in the summer heat were not fond memories for her. Now that Lisa has experienced Edaville the way I remember, we both agree "Edaville’s festival of lights" is the best time of the year to go. It was fun and we look forward to going again!

Parnell's First Flight

Well Its 12:36am friday night/saterday morning whatever you want to call it.I'm about 4 hours from heading to the airport and 6 hours from getting on a plane for the first time in my life. I'm very nervous and i'm having trouble sleeping. I have asked everyone i met this week what they thought of flying.Eveyone tells me its no big deal and i'm nervous over nothing. But how is loading dozens of people into a tin can that just hangs in the air at 30,000 feet nothing.I've had people send me emails about flight statistics all saying I have a better chance of winning the lottery or dieing in a car crash then i do an airplan accident. But any chance is still a chance and worth worring about.People just dont know my luck!!!I finaly have things to look forward to. I've been making more of an effort to get involved with my family. Life finaly feels worth living. Now according to murphys law and my shit luck.... Well I'm not gonna type what i'm thinking.God forbid anything does happen. these will be my last published words. To eveyone in my family. I Love you all!

Parnell's New Doctor's

Most of you know that lisa and I have been having issues conceiving a child. We've changed doctors so many times in the last Year because of doctors who wouldnt even try and help us.On the advice of a woman lisa met while working at the mall, we decided to seek out medical help from the doctors in boston at brighams & womans hospitals. Lisa has had several appointsments up there and she's been vey happy with her doctors. Today was my turn. I went into boston to meet my new endocrine doctor.I was realy impressed! They seemed excited about the idea of helping lisa and I. For the first time in years I finaly feel like there might be some hope for lisa and I to have a child of our own.

Amanda's Graduation

Today I had the honor of watching my niece Amanda graduate and receive her high school diploma. My eyes welled up with tears as I stood there proudly, yet regretting my late brother could not have been there to witness this major event in his daughters life.

I could be bias but there is no denying that she is someone to be proud off. My brother while not a stupid man had some difficulty in high school and never officially graduated himself. I know he would be very proud of her accomplishments. Not only did she graduate top of her class 46th of a class of over 400. She Achieved grades that placed her on the NATIONAL Honor Society She starts at Becker university in the fall! I am very proud of you Mandy! Love Uncle

A Good Man Lost

This week tragedy has affected my family. A man I admired and respected lost his fight against cancer on March 22nd 2007Joe Mace was by title my farther-in-law but to me he was much more. He was the man who trusted me with his daughter future, He was a strong man who dedicated his life to ensure his family lived a better life then he had himself. I myself plan on doing the same for my own family and I can only hope I do half as well as he did.

In his final months Joe and I had several talks about the nature of life & death, during these conversations Joe confided in me that he only had months to live. He also confided in me about his fears for the family after his own passing. We talked about my views on mortality and what I felt it must be like to know your going to die. I wouldn't learn till days later how deeply my words affected him. In my mind we were just talking casually and to be honest I wouldn't not be able to recall exactly what I said if you asked me now. but something I said during our conversations lifted his spirits. He kept thanking me for helping him. He expressed to me that he could pass happily because he had lived long enough see both of his daughters grow up and marry good men. I was honored to hear he was proud of me and I told him I would continue for as long as I could. I'm glad my words helped him but I only wish words could cure cancer or stop good people from passing.
